Small garden design is commonly disregarded by some. Probably because they don’t see the possibility of transforming small space into an attractive and creative garden, or they just don’t know what to do. Well this is a misconception. Having a small garden shouldn’t discourage you from transforming it into a wonderful outdoor space. Even the tiniest space can make an amazing garden design. Here are some helpful tips to consider for a small garden design:
1. Plants – This is your number one priority. It would be nice to squeeze in all the plants that you love, but with such small space, that becomes nearly impossible to do. You can still work with small space without overcrowding it by choosing your plants carefully. Instead, fill it with roses and jasmine. The scents of these two are both appealing that can last throughout the season. You can add other oriental flowers for extra colours.
2. Garden Wall – This makes a perfect character of a small garden design. You can take advantage of the many wall designs you can apply and attach. Evergreen and flowering hedge make for interesting garden wall. This will give the illusion of a secret garden. You can also hang more garden decorations. These can be bought in markets and are available in natural or plastic designs.
3. Trellis – The modern style of Trellis is not only meant for supporting plants. This adds special feature and shade to your small garden so make a good choice of climbing flowers of Sweet Pea, Morning Glory, Bougainvillea, Clematis, and Jasmine too.
4. Uprights – Another beauty element you can add to your small garden are uprights. Vertical posts can give an added charm to your garden especially when they are filled with blooming creeping vines. Just make sure that the posts are strong enough to hang pots and baskets.
5. Fences – Fence posts are great for hanging flower pots and baskets with flowers.
6. Landscape – A good landscape design in your garden can give a whole different but refreshing vibe. Search online for landscape catalogs to find out which design fits your garden.
Getting the results that you want for your small garden design need not come from professional work. You can you be an expert yourself. All you need is plenty of imagination and the willingness to experiment. Most of all, you need to believe that a smaller space does not have to hamper great works of art.
