honey-our-pitbullHoney says hi, and she hopes I don’t bore you with my home gardening tools wish list.

Jenny and I have loved the idea of home gardening for years and finally we have the space to start our own vegetable garden so now we grow more than just a few flowers around our home.

We started with pretty a shovel and two garden rakes, a fan rake and a metal tined rake like we had when I was a kid on the farm. I didn’t like the rake at that time, but then again I didn’t like work back then.

I found out right away my hands are now the hands of a computer instructor and they soon were covered with blisters. I needed some gloves and started using a pair of my winter gloves until we got out to a garden centre.

So we had a shovel, a couple of rakes and a pair of winter gloves. That’s all it took to start gardening. However over the last couple of years we have started adding a few new gardening tools to make some tasks easier.

Getting An Easy To Use Wheelbarrow

Shop CartsAndWagons.com TodayWe haven’t picked up that wheelbarrow we need so desperately but we want just the right kind and it would be nice to be able to purchase the one we want locally. But if we don’t see one before next spring we are buying it online.

I want a wheelbarrow with two wheels which I have seen called a garden cart, to make it easier to balance. Getting older as we are it’s so easy to tip an average wheelbarrow and give ourselves just that much more work to do. We have to have one that won’t fall over when we are moving it around.

I have seen one here in Moncton but it was made of rubber and was solid black. Looked awful and we decided against buying that one. Here is the one I am really interested in but just haven’t seen one at any nursery or store here yet.

Save The Earth Rain Barrel

RainBarrelSource.comEvery little bit counts and as we see our water bill go up every year it makes my wife and I think conservation so we try to use as much rain water as we can to water our gardens. So far we are only using small containers to collect rain at the run-off spout from the eves.

A rain barrel with a tap on it and a protective cover to keep egg laying bugs out would be exactly what we want. I think having three would keep us from using any of the city water.

Just having a good wheel barrow and rain barrel would save us time, money and energy, and we would be helping Mother Nature a bit.
