Image via WikipediaSquirrels may be cute but please stay out of my garden or… Well you will be sorry little fella.
Here is a squirrel repellent that usually does the trick.
1 ounce Murphy’s Oil Soap
1 ounce hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Mix everything together and put the mixture in a 22 ounce spray bottle. Fill the bottle to the top with water. Gently mix. Spray everything around where the squirrels are unwanted.
Of course if this does not work you may just find the squirrels looking for a hot chili recipe.

This would burn the squirrel, would it not?
Comment by ~~Melissa — August 9, 2008 @ 2:30 pm
Well it really only burns if they decide to hang around too long. We did pretty much the same thing with our black lab when she was a hole digging pup. It took one or two tries, she didn’t like it and stopped digging.
We never had to use it again. She never cried, just sneezed and shook her head and continued on to something else more entertaining.
So I don’t think it would burn the squirrels any more that putting hot spice on your tongue. The burning goes away when you stop licking the hot spice.
